Hey guys!!!

Hello!! I'm currently posting from El Dorado, Kansas! Kansas is awesome. We went to this super cool sweets shop called "The Nifty Nut" I actually didn't get that much candy there (because I'm broke :P), but there was a lot of candy that I could get. We have been driving for a long time, and that's not always fun. (Especially when you have a brother who can't sit still!) But, we finally are in Kansas! I would post pictures, but my laptop doesn't have wifi, so I can't post them :(.

Today we went to two super awesome museums, The City Museum, and The Magic House. Here are some pics I got. Most of the are from the City Museum, which is a really funky and eclectic place. It's kind of weird, but awesome. It's a childrens/adult place. They have lots of slides and climb around places. They also have art and stuff inside. The Magic House is a children's museum, and is geared towards super young kids. It was still really fun, but not like The City Museum. I highly recommend both of them. Enjoy the pictures!!

My trip

So as a few of you know, I'm on a cross country trip! We've been in: Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois!! We just got to Illinois, and we are right on the border of Missouri! From our camp ground, we literally can see the Saint Louis Arch. I don't have any good pictures yet, but when I do I will post them!!! Today we are going to drive around and see the sights of Missouri. I'm really excited!! We went to the children's museum yesterday in Indiana, and it was really fun. We got to do all sorts of fun
things, like explore the Chinese culture, and go in a mirror maze! I'll keep you guys posted on what happens!!

Yesterday and today

Yesterday, I had a CRAZY day. We went to church, then we came home for a bit, then, we went back to church for a BBQ, then, I went to a class at the animal shelter near me, (more on that later) then, I went to the first Awana meeting of the year.
The class at the animal shelter was super cool. It was about being a Wildlife Vetrinarian, and I  learned about how to care for animals, what things they're usually sick with, that kind of stuff. I gt to see a healing turtle, an owl, and I got to dissect an owl pellet. (By the way, the owl ate a mole) Then, I looked around at the shelter animals. They were all so cute!!!
Today, I'm going to be doing school. I have two online classes today, so I will be doing a whole lot of typing. I will also be doing my Awana handbook. So excited! This year we are learning about how to live as part of God's family. Its really awesome!

Crazy Saturdays :)

So, today being a normal Saturday, we have lots of things we need to get done. My brother has a game, my sister needs attention, my parents want to run a mile together, and I want to have time to just chill by myself. But sometimes, you can't do that. It's very hard to balance your wants and your needs. I want to read all day today, but I need to help my parents get my brother out of the door. There isn't always a happy medium between these things. But, even when I'm feeling super stressed, I can have calm. I just remember that God has a plan for me, and even if it isn't always what I want, it may be what someone else wants, and its certainly what God wants, and that's what's important. Serving others is something I struggle with constantly. I'm a naturally selfish person. We all are. It takes a special mindset to focus on others before yourself, and that mindset doesn't come naturally. I hope that this post actually made some sense.

School work :)

Ok, so this year I have a whole lot of school. A whole lot. Right now, I'm reading 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea for my Sci-fi class. Its a really good book, and fairly well written. It can be kind of slow and boring at some points, (even for an avid reader like me) but it picks up towards the end. It's very mysterious and interesting as well. I'm not going to tell you what its about, because I don't want to spoil it, but, you should read it for sure. (Just make sure you have a LOT of extra time, as it's very long.)

I also am taking an English class that had me read Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. It was a super interesting chapter of the Jungle Book, and I highly recommend reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope you will too. That's all I have for now!
